Breaking Bread Together

Posted by John Repsold on

Greetings in Jesus!

"All the believers were together...every day they continued to meet together...they broke bread...and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people" (Acts 2:44-47).

Such was the life of God's people in Jerusalem at the beginning of the world-wide church.  They loved to be together and talk about life in Christ together.  And their fellowship around the table transformed the world!

That's what we're hoping will happen with us too in the months to come.  We're beginning some Fellowship Lunches every month that will give us great time with each other and hopefully knit our hearts together in Christ more.

So, THIS SUNDAY after the 2nd Service at 12:15pm we'll be sharing food together, sharing life together, sharing laughter, love and Jesus together.

Family meals are some of THE BEST times for family life together.  If you grew up in a family that had dinner together almost every night of the week, you know how God can use that "family time" to bond hearts together and build lives up.

God doesn't want us to just "dine and dash" either in our relationships with Him or our brothers and sisters in Christ.  He loves to have His family relax around the table and really have fun being in His presence and each others fellowship.

So, we've got room for about 50 of us for LUNCH after church this Sunday (5-23).  Chef Doug will be fixing the main dish.  We're asking everyone attending to bring either a SALAD or DESSERT (and any particular drinks you prefer).  We'll provide coffee, tea and water...and, oh, plates, etc. too.

So plan to eat AND spend some quality time hanging out with God's family.  We're doing this, not to just feed our faces, but to feed our souls with loving fellowship. Feel free to bring some table or board GAMES if you would like, too.

See you Sunday...with a good appetite, both spiritually and physically.

Blessings,

Pastor John
