Pastor's Weekly Update

Strong Hands, Focused Hearts

Posted by John Repsold on

It’s amazing what “unfiltered” sunshine (read ‘warm, cloudless days’) can do to restore energy and renew vision in a person.  That’s what happened to me this past week as Sandy and I enjoyed a few days of sun and fun in Southern California with our son, Daniel.

Even as I write this, I’m glancing out the window to see wet, heavy snowflakes plummeting to earth here in wintry Spokane.

But I wouldn’t trade what God is doing right here…with Mosaic…in the heart of our city for any number of sunny (and, yes, smoggy) Southern Cali days.  Even being gone just one Sunday makes me feel like I’m missing out on something.

God is doing something special...right now...with us.  There is SO much to share about what is happening that I won’t even begin to try here in this email.  Suffice it to say that you’ll have to be around for the next few weeks and months to hear the stories and see the changes. But if you can join us Sunday, I think God has something great in store for all of us.

So let me invite you to prepare for this Sunday together by reading the messages of a couple of Old Testament prophets and a little history by an Old Testament priest.  We’re on Week #19 in The Story.  So be sure to read Ezra 1-6 (he’s the priest) as well as Haggai (2 short chapters) and Zechariah 1-7 (both prophets during the same time).  You’ll be absolutely amazed at how much of what God’s people were experiencing in the 5th century B.C. is matching what we are experiencing in the 21st century A.D. right here in Spokane at Mosaic.

See you Sunday!
