    Preacher: Jess Achenbach

Keywords: change, future, gospel of jesus

    Summary:

This fourth message in our series on the Gospel looks at how the Gospel changes our future.

    Detail:

    Outline:

What is the Gospel? Basic overview:  Means Good News, All of the Gospel, but specifically the good news of Christ and Salvation:

    Overview (Past, Present, Future)

    1. SALVATION:
    2. Born sinners (starts with bad news) Rom 3:23 (For all have sinned and fall short)
    3. Redemption required (OT Law was impossible measuring rod) – X-ray doesn’t heal shows us the break.
    4. Christ’s atonement Heb 9:22 “without the shedding of Blood no remission of sins”
    5. Our acceptance/Salvation/Holy Spirit indwells
    6. Becoming a disciple of Christ – obeying His commandments

    How does it change us?

Who we were: Lost in sins, we were evil, our very nature,

    (Testimony)

Who we are: Once saved, life changes, working out salvation with fear and trembling.

    (How I am changing)

Who we strive to be: Making disciples that will make disciples?  Being missional

    1. Signs of a mature Believer:
    2. Doing spiritual disciplines
    3. Prayer Life
    4. Sharing the word
    5. Discipling others
    6. What is the hope of the Gospel for the future?
    7. Through faith we are saved from the power of sin by Jesus’ death and resurrection (Rom 4:25) “He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification”
    8. Through faith we will be saved from the presence of sin by Jesus’ return. (John 14:19) “Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.
