Pastor's Weekly Update

Time for a Change

Posted by John Repsold on

If you like sleep, this weekend coming must be your favorite of the year!  Yes, it’s already that time to “fall back” with Daylight Savings Time. So turn your clocks back one hour on Saturday night and enjoy that extra hour of rest as you prepare to enjoy worshipping God this weekend.

Added to this time-recapturing weekend is an opportunity for fellowship with our Pastoral Staff on Sunday evening.  If you’ve not been to a Pastor’s Dessert, we’d love to help you add some calories to your weekend cuisine as we share dessert, fellowship and blessing we have as fellow pilgrims here at Mosaic.  Come to the Achenbach’s house from 6:30-8:00 p.m. this Sunday, November 3rd (4239 E. 40th Ave.) and bring your questions and comments.

Thanksgiving is, of course, just around the corner too.  This November we’re joining forces with our neighbors at Pilgrim Slavic Church to put on a Thanksgiving Lunch & program @ The Carlyle for about 60 of their residents on Saturday, November 16th at 12:30 p.m.  Pilgrim Slavic will be handling the program (music, snack bags, speaker) and we’ll be doing the meal.  We’re in real need of some help cooking and serving turkeys, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, veggies and desserts.  If you would be able to help out, please contact me at or 509-710-8026.  It’s a great opportunity to bless an entire block of our city and some wonderful neighbors.

With the election coming up this next Tuesday, November 5th, I’d encourage you to take a look at the We Believe, We Vote web page for issues and candidate responses to questions important to every one of us as God’s kids choosing leaders over us in everything from education to city government.  Just go to https://webelievewevote.com/spokane-county-voter-guides/ to see how the candidates responded.

Finally, if you want to join some others who are passionate about prayer for our nation and state, plan to enjoy a light lunch after church Sundays every other week (12:45 p.m.) starting Nov 10th.  Contact Colleen at 509-768-6181 if you plan to participate.

Prayerfully,

Pastor John
